I used your invention with one of my students recently. 

He could never keep his pinkie on top of his bow for 2 years. 

So I got it for him. 

And now, unless he forgets to put his pinkie in it, he hold the bow much better and plays much better. 

It did seem like a shock to him when he first started doing it, how important the pinkie really is and how it felt to hold the bow correctly.
