Important Features of a Violin/Viola Bow Hold
- Curved pinky finger on top of bow
- Slight space between pinky and ring finger
- Backs of middle and ring fingers, between first and second joints, rest on bow stick
- Flexed thumb, approaching bow at a 45 degree angle, touches intersection of frog and stick
- Index finger, slightly separated from middle finger, rests on bow between the first and second joints
